As young parents of a child newly diagnosed with disabilities, Jelena and Sinisa wondered what Suza’s future bring. Their dreams for her suddenly seemed very uncertain. They tried to navigate the complex world of education and disability for their daughter, and were overwhelmed. Fortunately a friend referred Jelena to The Arc for help. With The Arc’s assistance, she and Sinisa were able to form a supportive relationship with Suza’s school. The Kokotovic’s began to feel more involved than ever in Suza’s care and education, and because of The Arc, they no longer felt like everything was resting on their shoulders alone. The Kokotovic’s have formed new dreams for Suza’s future, and they walk forward with optimism for what she can achieve in life.
