Deb and Bill Karsell have been involved with The Arc – JCCGC for nearly 15 years, working to improve the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. Deb was a member of The Arc - JCCGC Board for 11 years and still participates on the Guardianship Committee. As Deb served on the board, including helping to organize the first Summit of Hope in 2007, Bill was also drawn to our mission and couldn’t help but get involved. Deb and Bill are a respected and admired couple who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have always been sure to make their family an important part of their advocacy, often bringing their three grandchildren to our events, where they have been able to learn firsthand how much people with IDD have to contribute to others. Our community is very lucky to have a giving and selfless couple like the Karsells, which is why we are so excited to honor them as two of our 60 Voices That Shine.
