How can people help if they don't know you need it?
This was the burning question that led The Arc to launch our annual Summit of Hope Community Awareness Event in 2007. More than anything, we knew that -- if The Arc really wanted to make a difference for people with disabilities and their families -- then we needed to reach beyond our inner circle to get more people engaged in our work.
For almost seven decades, The Arc has been shaping our local community and carving out opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) through advocacy, education, and community-building. Yet for all that we've accomplished over the years, we know that real progress comes when we spread awareness of the talents, achievements, and daily concerns of people with I/DD,
That's why The Arc needs you.
In just one action-packed hour on Tuesday, October 10, we will share inspiring stories straight from the people we serve, and show you how you can help make our community a welcoming place for everyone.
